For some fractions, it is not necessary to use the long division method to find the decimal form. Instead, the decimal form can be found out by converting the fraction into a suitable equivalent fraction.

The denominator 4 can be changed to 100 by multiplying it by 25.

To make the fraction equivalent, multiply 25 to the numerator also.

$$\frac{\mathbf3}{\mathbf4}\boldsymbol=\frac{\mathbf3\boldsymbol\times\mathbf{25}}{\mathbf4\boldsymbol\times\mathbf{25}}\boldsymbol=\frac{\mathbf{75}}{\mathbf{100}}$$

As there are two zeros in the denominator, move the decimal point two places to the left.

The decimal form is 0.75.
