Kids Summer Academy By Argoprep: Grade 6-7

There is no answer keyI’ve been trying to get the answer key online but it’s showing a total different book and I keep refreshing the screen and clicking the book we have but nothing… otherwise the book is interesting just no answer key to check your child’s work

I highly recommend giving these a try!I recently picked up the Kids Summer Academy workbooks for grades 3-4 and 6-7 for my kids, and I have to say, they’ve been a game-changer! These books are filled with fun and educational activities that keep my kids busy and learning all summer long. They cover everything from math and reading to science and social studies, so my kids are getting a bit of everything. What I love most is how engaging the pages are – my kids actually look forward to working on them! It’s been a great way to keep their brains active without them feeling like they’re stuck in school mode. If you're looking for a way to keep your kids sharp and entertained during the summer, I highly recommend giving these a try!

EASY TO WORK IT.For my Grand daughter, another state. BRAIN GAMES is my "GO TO"-WE have 2 sets of those quiz cards ,bought for my daughter when she was little- in her 40's,and BOTH Grand kids use them STILL. THATS why I I buy their books.

Won't buy againI bought three of these books (5-6, 6-7, and 8-9). We've always done summer workbooks and I've worked with two other series. I love Brain Quest but they haven't been updated since I think 2012 and they stop at 6-7. Summer Bridge was adequate but boring. I chose this series largely due to it being in color and looking fun. Color was the first problem. These are black and white, not color as advertised. I emailed Argoprep and they were kind enough to email me back, but informed me that they are only in color of ordered directly from their website, but, even then, not the 8-9. So they are misleading on this listing. Structurally, the binding is too close to the words. It's very awkward reading text as it's nearly impossible to see what's on the inside edge. Some of the formatting is odd or even just off as well. In general, the book doesn't feel well-edited. I don't like how the answer keys are online. I mean, I don't care - I just printed them out - but there is no easy way to find them. You have to forge through all the links for Argoprep's paid features and when you finally find them, they're mixed with other answer keys in no order whatsoever. And you actually click on something about videos to get to the answer key link. Wasted so much time, three times, once for each book. I don't like how each day is either all English or all math, and science is only experiments. Also, I think many of the days are way too much work. So now I have to take time once a week to hand-pick pages for each kid, selecting a little bit of math and English for each day. I mark their pages with color-coded sticky arrows, one color per day. We skip the science experiments only because, even though we're a science-loving family, my kids have said they'd rather be in the pool. It's just too much time for a summer workbook! That and they've done many of them before. With this system they still spend about 20-30 minutes per day on their books. Considering they also do cursive workbooks and reading I couldn't imagine them doing more. When my daughter shows me that she has 10 math problems of time-consuming busywork using all the same functions I tell her she can skip it (after she tells me how it all works). I had one of my boys write only algebraic equations without solving them because it was just so much busywork! There was one assignment where they wanted my son to find two sources for multiple statements. That was in addition to everything else that was meant for the day. OMG, just way too much work. I had him skip it. I'm also not going to have my kid go exploring for 15 to 20 minutes and then put together a multi-day experiment (unless he wants to - it's his summer!) Summer workbooks are meant to keep brains from dying. Some intelligent math problems and a little literature or grammer, and perhaps a little puzzle game. That's all I need. My kids don't need to spend an hour a day on these plus research and writing essays. Ugh. I have issues with some of the content. The first assignment in 8-9 is about how all dogs are good and there are only bad owners and no breed is naturally aggressive. They use "owners" as a source of facts. I'm a 20-year experienced exotic animal and dog trainer and this is just false. I looked for cited sources and there are none. My son was smart to know it was a stupid article. This is where I get a little political. I have my kids skip anything about global warming or anything about how their lives should be nannied. I don't think there is any malicious intent, but there is a bias that peeks out now and then. Again, there are also never any cited sources for any of the"facts" they give on any assignment. Parents, regardless of your views, read what is being taught to your children! And teach your kids to check facts and think for themselves.
